Late yesterday the brakes on the truck started grinding, then dragging. Took it to the shop today, very bad things happened.

The caliper on the rear right brake ejected the pad. This left the pistons pushing directly on the rotor. All of which (caliper, pads, rotor) now have to be replaced as it’s a heavy vehicle and the very small amount of driving it that way completely destroyed them.

So today started off rough, but ultimately ended well. My whole family is in town to see me graduate tomorrow, so I got to show my cousins around campus. We went to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for dinner, which was delicious (seriously if you’re ever near Strong City, Kansas for some unknown reason, go there). Finally, I’ve got my sister’s Mustang until the truck is fixed.

Also, did I mention I’M GRADUATING TOMORROW, WITH MY MASTERS!!!

Goodnight Oppo, try to avoid borked brakes, they’re rather expensive.

Congrats on the masters. I’ve still got a few more years.

I am so tired of dealing with brakes. Over the last couple of weeks I have replaced on all 4 wheels:

Shoes

Cylinders

Brake Hardware

Drums

Flex Lines

I get everything back together today, and the rear brakes will not bleed. Now I have to replace the master cylinder too. At least now I know it is all good for a while. I got all the electrical demons exorcised, but now I need tires.

Drum brakes are annoying, I replaced the rear brakes on my buddy’s Nissan Hardbody a couple years back.

Rear disc brakes on a pickup? I’m assuming by your username that it’s a GMT800 pickup? GM 99-05?

Also congrats on your Masters!
